Drill Hall is a heritage listed building with Art Deco features that was designed by the architect George Hallandal and built in 1937 for the Royal Melbourne Regiment. It was decommissioned after the war and used socially to host parties and dances.   The hall was purchased by the City of Melbourne and its is currently managed by AMES as part of the Multicultural Hub.

The hall can be hired for presentations, workshops and social events.  To support these activities a new AV system was deployed by Easyweb. It consists of two Epson 7000 lumens laser projectors with short throw lenses suspended from the ceiling.  Their images get projected on two 16:10 150” electric drop down screens.  A 200 Watt amplifier and a Digital Signal Processor connect to 8 ceiling speakers.  The system is managed using a RTI touch LCD screen and allows for multiple image and audio inputs including new handheld and lapel microphones.

Deploying the system was challenging due to the building’s heritage status and its high ceilings.  The project was finished in time and budget.

Congratulations to the Easyweb team working in the project:  Aaron, Andrew, Ben (the Electrician), Ben (the PM), Sean and Nicholas. The photo below has (from left to right) Ben, Andrew, Sean and Nicholas at the commissioning day. Aaron and Ben are absent from the photo below.
