On the 27th and 28th of October 2016 Easyweb's Business Manager Daniel Sacchero visited the Amata community in the APY Lands (South Australia) to review the Public WiFi system. Daniel met with Mark Weaver the Government Business Manager (Indigenous Affairs Network - Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet) and Di Hodge Senior Adviser Broadcasting an Telecommunications (Indigenous Affairs Network - Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet) to review the system performance and discuss its social impacts.
The Amata public WiFi system was been operating since June 2016. It uses the NBN ISS satellite service as its Internet back-haul service but it is in the process of being migrated to the new SkyMuster service early in 2017.
